Dear Friends,
$2.05 may not seem like a lot to you... but to a homeless person it is more than they have. Our ailing economy means more people in crisis are coming to our doors. Meeting the need is getting harder as donations are shrinking.
But isn’t it great to know that $2.05 goes a long way here at Faith Mission. In a few weeks, it will feed one more person at our Thanksgiving celebration. And at Thanksgiving, no one should go hungry in the Columbus area.
Around our tables this Thanksgiving season, there will be poor and homeless men, women and children who never thought they would need our help — people affected by rising food and fuel prices, job lay offs and the home foreclosure crisis.
We will also see many homeless people who are struggling with addiction. A few will be tough and wary, and many will have a distant, hopeless look in their eyes. For these people, real change will have to start on the inside, as they experience God’s life-transforming love.
Regardless of their need, all will be fed. And our hot, traditional Thanksgiving meal can be the first step toward a new life.
So I’m asking for your help with that first step – feeding the hungry this Thanksgiving season. As you enjoy your own celebration this Thanksgiving, you will know that you have done something about one of our city’s biggest problems – by helping us reach out with God’s love to the hungry and homeless.
Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Sincerely,

Thomas J. Stofac
